The 2023 Business Plan Challenge is an opportunity for any current Fanshawe College student to showcase and pitch their business plan to faculty and industry professionals, for a chance to win $3000+ in cash prizes. If you have been working on a business plan for a class or something all your own, now is your chance to turn it into something that can win you money to move the business idea forward or support your financial demands as a student.

The Business Plan Challenge will consist of two rounds:

ROUND 1
-
The first round of the challenge is a PRE-RECORDED 5-MINUTE VIDEO PITCH submission due on February 24th, 2023.

Our judge's panel will choose only the 10 Best Submissions by March 1st, 2023 to move forward to the next round.

​ROUND 2 - Finals
-
The second round of the challenge includes a LIVE 10-MINUTE PITCH on March 22nd, 2023 to a panel of 3 - 5 industry professional judges.

The Top 10 will have access to pitch coaching sessions from March 6th - 17th, 2023 to help them prepare for their final 10-minute pitch.

We have created a Pitch Presentation Template and Scoring Rubric to help you prepare the best pitch possible. Please use them as a guide!

who can enter?
Must be a current Fanshawe College student.

Presentations must comply with current London/Middlesex Public Health Guidelines, specifically surrounding COVID-19
All individuals in the video must submit a signed Video/Photography Release Waiver for the submission to be considered.
Presentations must comply with the Student Code of Conduct
technical requirements
Round 1 pitch video must be no more than 5 minutes in length. Any longer will not be accepted.
Your video must be submitted as a .MP4, MPEG, OR AVI file
Your video presentation must show both you and your visuals (slide deck, videos, pictures, etc.).
Your video file must be no more than 10GB in size
Your video must not contain any copyrighted music, photos, or videos without permission or providing credit

The top 3 competitors will also earn an automatic interview for the leapIN Business Accelerator Program.

The 1st place winner will also move on to the Ontario Colleges Incubator Network (OCIN) PitchIt Competition to represent Fanshawe College. They will have a chance to win part of a prize pot valued at over $10,000.
