Curse The Eye Of Isis

Someone has stolen an artifact from the British Museum - a sacred (and CURSED) Egyptian statuette called the "Eye of Isis". You are called in to investigate its disappearance, find and return it to the pyramid where it once resided. The deadly curse must be stopped, and time is of the essence!

Curse The Eye of Isis

Once you've adjusted to the unaccommodating controls and camera, Curse: The Eye of Isis is a fun, creepy, good looking horror game. A little more emphasis on the combat system, like making good use of the bodypart-specific targeting, would have gone a long way towards truly enjoyable gameplay. It's a little on the campy side story-wise, especially the ending, but what ancient Egyptian curse story isn't? That's just part of its charm. It took around 10 hours to play through on the normal difficulty level, which is a reasonable amount of time to spend on an adventure game. However, because it's so linear, there's no point in playing through again.

Unfortunately, the night before your visit, a cat burglar known only as Le Chat has tried to steal an ancient statue, and in doing so, unleashes a curse of terrible proportions that causes the dead to rise and objects to animate and hate you good.

Short Attention Span SummaryNothing really bad about the game (Aside from the music), nothing really great about the game (Aside from the graphics), Curse is inevitably lost in the scuffle amongst hundreds of other games. Worth a rental, but decidedly not worth a purchase, the only Curse this game suffers from is the curse of Mediocrity.

It is a cute story, worth the price I paid for the DVD.

Curse is a dramatic horror-action adventure based around the mysterious disappearance from a museum of a priceless Egyptian statuette 'The Eye Of Isis'. The statuette is protected by an ancient and evil curse that causes madness or violent death to all who come into contact with it. The curse manifests itself by raising diabolical mummified dead to exact violent revenge on the idol's desecraters. The main object of the game is to recover the missing statue and return it via train and then cargo steam-ship to the heart of the pyramid from where it was originally removed. The user-controlled central hero, Darien Dane together with his close friend and assistant Verity, are plunged into an adrenaline pumping nightmare scenario of murder, mystery, horror, and evil. Starting with a search for the missing statuette they examine the sprawling interior of a museum environment. Here the curse's influence causes a variety of in-animate objects to come to life and attempt to kill them! They also encounter clues, characters, and complex puzzles in their adventure to discover the location of the sacred statue.

'True; so farewell, old gentleman: we shall meet soon; if not, we musthave a friendly bet at the Amphitheatre. All my calculations areconfounded by this cursed misfortune of Glaucus! He had bet on Lydonthe gladiator; I must make up my tablets elsewhere. Vale!' 041b061a72
