Calling  experts, changemakers, developers, designers, strategists,  social innovators and students to hack climate solutions for the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)!

Event Details:

Climathon GTA 2024 is organized by the Climate Innovation Lab – Centre of Entrepreneurship at Centennial College, in collaboration with EIT Climate-KIC and local partners. This weekend event engages participants from diverse backgrounds to contribute to climate action by creating impactful solutions. The program uses a design process and lean methodology to guide participants, ensuring solutions effectively address the local climate challenges.

This 2 ½-day program is designed to mobilize experts, community members, designers, engineers, developers, strategists and students in a collective effort to develop sustainable, impactful solutions. Climathon GTA 2024 emphasizes active participation and engagement from all sectors to foster innovative approaches to local climate challenges.

Participants will work with mentors to tackle themes using design thinking and lean methodology, working towards innovative solutions presented to a panel of judges for a chance to win awards*. Throughout the weekend, teams will receive extensive mentoring from experts in design thinking, business modeling, and pitching.

Climathon GTA 2024 focuses on the following two topics, addressing critical climate-related issues facing the Greater Toronto Area:

Topic #1: Solutions to Reduce Building Emissions

Topic #2: Solutions to Reduce Energy Consumption

To collaborate, we need to engage in a way that goes beyond talking, towards creating a space for people from all backgrounds to bring in their local knowledge, ensuring a bottom-up, grassroots approach. More than just a weekend, it is the beginning of a community to create a real impact.
